How Much Does Starlink Cost per Month Now? It Depends on Your Address

By Torren Davis, owner, Reliable Orbit InstallationsPosted 1 min read

Starlink just changed how it prices home internet, and it's going to confuse a lot of folks. Residential plans are moving to what Starlink calls dynamic pricing, which means two neighbors a county apart can pay different prices for the exact same plan.

Starlink emailed customers on October 29 saying prices are now set by how much satellite capacity is available in your area and how many people want it. They'll review it about every quarter, and the first changes show up on bills starting on or after November 30.

So when somebody asks me how much Starlink costs a month, the honest answer is now "it depends on your address." The list prices are still $55 for Residential 100 Mbps, $85 for 200 Mbps and $130 for Max, but Residential is now a range. Reports show it moving about 20% either way from the normal price. In parts of Missouri, Residential Max went from $130 to $156 a month, while Kansas City customers are seeing Max at $117 and a small Kansas town is down to $104.

Roam wasn't named in these emails. So far every report I've found only covers Residential, and Roam's last change was the $5 to $10 increase earlier this year that hit Residential, Roam and Standby together.

Starlink says it won't only go up, and it's pointing to the new V3 satellites adding capacity, which could bring prices down in some areas. You can still downgrade or cancel any time.

My thought: this is the same crowding problem that brought on the demand surcharge, just showing up in your monthly bill now. If you're shopping for Starlink, put your exact address into starlink.com and look at the price it gives you, not what your cousin pays in the next town. If you already have it, watch your December bill.

Common questions

How much does Starlink cost per month?
As of October 2026, Starlink Residential lists at $55 a month for 100 Mbps, $85 for 200 Mbps and $130 for Max. With dynamic pricing, your address can push that about 20% higher or lower, so check your exact address on starlink.com for your real monthly cost.
Why does my Starlink service cost more than my neighbor's in the next town?
Starlink now prices Residential plans by how much satellite capacity is available in each area and how many people want it. Busy areas can pay more for the same plan, and areas with spare capacity can pay less.
How often will my Starlink monthly bill change?
Starlink says it will review prices about every quarter. The first changes apply to billing cycles starting on or after November 30, 2026, and you can still downgrade or cancel any time.
Does dynamic pricing apply to Starlink Roam?
The reports so far only name Residential plans. Roam prices last changed with the $5 to $10 increase earlier in 2026.
Are there other Starlink costs besides the monthly service?
In high-demand areas, Starlink can add a one-time demand surcharge when you sign up, reactivate or move your service address. You'll see it at checkout on starlink.com before you pay. More here: why Starlink charged a demand surcharge.
