Starlink Doesn't Have Its Own Installers

By Torren Davis, owner, Reliable Orbit InstallationsPosted 1 min read

Here's something most people don't know: Starlink doesn't have its own installers. When it offers a free install, the work is done by an outside contractor, not a Starlink employee. Starlink explains how that works in its own help center, linked below.

For some folks the free install works out fine. My recommendation is still to buy your own kit and either install it yourself or have someone you trust do it, even if that someone isn't us.

When you choose your own installer, you can see their work, read their reviews, and call them back if something's wrong. Dish placement, a clean cable run and good weatherproofing are what keep Starlink working for years, not weeks.
